How Does It Work? In a boiler system, an economizer is crucial to capture the heat of the flue gas and transfer it to the feed water. The process is not complicated. As the flue gas goes out of the boiler, it takes entry into the economizer with finned tubes. The finned tubes absorb the heat and thus raise the temperature of the boiler feed water.
