How Steam Boilers Function?

A boiler is a closed insulated case. inside it heat is generated by the combustion of coal. The heat is then transmitted to water for the production of steam. It is known as a Boiler.

Steam Boiler Working Principle

Industrial steam boilers are made based on the principle of combustion of Fuel. The boiler depends on the process of combustion where heat is produced by the burning of fuel.to make sure that the combustion takes place, it needs some requirements. They are

  • Fuel

  • Air

  • Heat

Steam Boiler Operation

You can contact O’Brien Boiler Services Pty Ltd. for  industrial steam generators for sale. The Boiler basically has tubes arranged in series through which water will be flown. In the combustion area, heat is generated by the burning of coal where radiant energy in the form of electromagnetic waves is spread around the area.

These electromagnetic waves in the combustion area after contacting the tubes absorb the heat. This type of heat transfer is called Radiation. The burning of coal generates some flue gasses. The tubes absorb these gasses.

The conduction of heat occurs as the outermost part of the tube gets heated,The innermost part also is heated. The heat from the inner surfaces is moved to the cool water in the tube.

Thus, water gets mixed up, and the cooler water is converted into hot water.

The hot water beyond its boiling point changes from liquid to vapor. This type of heat transfer is called convection. This is how steam is generated in a boiler.
